Mišpoche is a film with elements of a road movie, following two siblings, Ivan and Alica, who set out for the first time in 80 years to retrace the footsteps of their parents, who hid in bunkers above Banská Bystrica during World War II. Ivan is also the first Jewish child born in Banská Bystrica after the war, serving as a reminder of what the fascists failed to accomplish.
